NUTRITION....NUTRITION.....NUTRITION
NUTRITION IS THE KEY

WE ARE WHAT WE EAT
Nutrition is important and not just important, it is the most important piece of the puzzle. Do not be fooled into thinking if you exercise, you can eat whatever you want. I wish I could tell you that is TRUE but I would be lying. To understand effective nutrition, you must first understand the body and how it relates to food.

Our body is a miracle. Our body is perfect. Our body does not like change. These are three big statements that are true. We have to teach our body how to change and then it will respond.
Eating 1,2 or 3 meals a day is not enough. The number one problem for most people is they don't eat enough. Remember, the body is a miracle - if we don't eat enough, the body goes into storage mode and stores the food we do eat for energy. This is the reason many people struggle with weight loss and stay the same for many years although they may eat very little.
Some people lose weight through starvation tactics but what they actually lose is muscle. Our bodies will sacrifice muscle for energy when deprived of food to protect the stores of fat and sugar.
To effectively lose weight and maintain a healthy body, it is important to eat a minimum of 4 meals per day. We need to eat every 3-3 1/2 hours to maintain healthy blood sugar levels. When blood sugar levels dip, we begin to experience symptoms including fatigue, moodiness, sleepy, etc. This is our body asking for food but instead of eating, many of us go for the quick caffeine fix. This is not the solution - what we need to do is eat a meal, not a snack. Our body needs fuel throughout the day to use as energy and keep us going.
Our body wants to keep working, but we block our body from doing this when we do not eat. Then our body has to stop and figure out what to use for energy to keep us going. What happens next is instead of working and burning food for fuel, it goes into survival mode and begins to store the food future use as energy source. For this reason, many of us have our bodies in storage mode. To teach our body to start working, we must eat consistently throughout the day.
HOW DO WE GET OUR BODY IN WORKING MODE AND KEEP IT WORKING?
* Eat every 3 - 3 1/2 hours.
* Eat 4 meals per day - no snacks - 4 complete meals
* Eat the right portions of the right foods.
* Cook food with natural ingredients and cook food the right way.
* Teach our body to burn FAT and build MUSCLE.
Understanding how the body works and eating the right foods, in the right amounts, prepared the right way is key in helping your body efficiently process food - giving you the energy you need and teaching your body to use food as fuel not store as fat for reserve.
